Terms of Service

These terms govern use of Pragyan (“the service”) at www.pragyan.ca. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

You must be able to enter a contract, or a parent or guardian must be the one who agrees. The product does not record parental consent. See the Privacy Policy section on children before you let someone else use your account.

Pragyan lets you ask an assistant, spend Pragyan credits, and optionally connect Gmail (read-only metadata), Calendar (read-only), Telegram, and website monitoring. You can save a location for weather. Where Growth is enabled, you can practice with a tutor and use Job Assistant. A feature can be paused by environment configuration. We do not promise that every integration is live in every environment.

The assistant uses AI through our AI gateway. Replies, summaries, tutor feedback, and job text can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You remain responsible for how you use the output. Do not rely on the service as the only check for legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

Help & Support chat can open an in-app incident so a person can follow up. It does not spend credits. Email support@pragyan.ca for a person. That address is not the same thing as connecting your own Gmail, and we do not send mail from your Gmail connection. A microphone control in Help, where that site is built with the voice flag on, transcribes one clip and does not keep the audio file. The API refuses voice when the server is running as production.

You sign in with Clerk. Google may be offered as a sign-in method. Google sign-in does not connect Gmail or Calendar. You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in method under your control. You are responsible for activity on your account.

The service is for your own personal or internal use unless we agree otherwise in writing. Do not share the account in a way that hides who is using it.

New accounts include a 30-day trial with 500 Pragyan credits. Credits are a usage measure inside the product, not cash, and they are not transferable. Unused trial credits expire when the trial ends. The trial does not roll credits forward.

Different actions cost different amounts. The app shows the cost from our catalog before or as you use a feature. If you run out, related jobs may skip until more credits are available. Help & Support does not spend credits. Credits are drawn from lots in this order: trial, rollover, monthly allocation, then top-up.

Paid plans shown in the product (Basic, Pro, and Premium in the default catalog) include a monthly allowance and a rollover cap. Rollover on those plans expires after the period configured for the plan, 90 days unless the catalog says otherwise. Prices are in US dollars unless the product shows another currency. We may change plan prices or credit costs going forward. The amounts on the pricing and billing screens control if they differ from an older description.

Stripe checkout and the customer portal run only when billing is enabled. When it is paused, signing up does not start a subscription and does not charge a card. We may accept a single-use access code that grants one month of a paid plan’s monthly credits without a Stripe charge.

Trial and credit grants do not guarantee uninterrupted service or any particular AI quality.

Connecting Gmail, Calendar, or Telegram is optional and separate from signing in. When you connect Google, you authorize our server to obtain and store encrypted OAuth tokens and to call Google APIs within the scopes on the Google consent screen and in the Privacy Policy (Google User Data).

For Gmail we request read-only access (gmail.readonly) plus openid and email. The product reads subject and sender metadata (and a short snippet only when the subject is missing). It does not send mail, create drafts, or modify labels, archives, or trash.

Calendar uses calendar.events.readonly plus openid and email. We do not request write access. Create, update, and cancel remain proposals.

You can disconnect Gmail or Calendar at any time under Connections. We ask you to confirm. We then revoke the token when Google accepts the revoke and clear stored credentials. Summaries already saved in the app can remain until you dismiss them or request deletion. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions.

Google user data from Gmail and Calendar is used only for the email and calendar maintenance features you enable. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The scheduled mail summary does not send your mail to the AI service. When AI processes that Google data, the Privacy Policy is the full description: minimized fields only, on a fail-closed route that sends the content only to Google Gemini. Other model providers are not used for that content. We do not claim that a review of region, retention, or training terms has happened, or that Google has finished verifying the app.

You must have the right to connect the Google account, Telegram chat, and websites you add. Do not connect an inbox, calendar, or chat you are not allowed to access.

Tutor, skills, and Job Assistant are part of the service when Growth is enabled. Practice text, reviews, and job notes are stored as described in the Privacy Policy. Speaking recordings, where the product accepts them, are temporary files used to make a transcript. The API refuses those uploads when the server is running as production.

An age band, including ages 8–12, is optional context. It is not proof of age and it is not parental consent. You are responsible for whether a minor should use an account you control.

You may not:

• Break the law or use the service to harm others
• Probe, scrape, or disrupt the service, other users, or connected providers
• Attempt to bypass credit limits, rate limits, or tenant isolation
• Upload malware or content you do not have rights to process
• Use connected mail or calendar data for spam, surveillance of others, or ads
• Resell access or share your account in a way that conceals who is using it
• Misrepresent the service as holding certifications we have not stated

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

We provide the service as available. We may add, change, or withdraw features, pause billing or integrations, or take the service down for maintenance. We do not guarantee uptime, delivery of every scheduled job, or that a connected provider (Google, Telegram, or others) will remain available.

We own the service, the Pragyan name, and the software. You keep rights in the content you submit (asks, profile text, URLs, practice work). You grant us a license to host and process that content to operate the service for you, including sending a request to the AI gateway described in the Privacy Policy. AI output is provided for use with the service. Gateway and model providers have their own terms, which we do not republish here.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE EXTENT THOSE WARRANTIES CAN BE DISCLAIMED. AI OUTPUT MAY BE WRONG. GMAIL ACCESS IS READ-ONLY METADATA. CALENDAR ACCESS IS READ-ONLY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONNECTED PROVIDERS WILL AUTHORIZE OR CONTINUE ACCESS, OR THAT A SECURITY CERTIFICATION OR GOOGLE VERIFICATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR CREDITS, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $50).

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted. These terms do not name a court or a governing law; that choice is not set in the product.

You may stop using the service at any time. Sign out ends the session only. To ask for account deletion, follow the Privacy Policy and email support@pragyan.ca. We may suspend or close an account for violation of these terms, non-payment where billing is on, abuse, or if we discontinue the product.

After closure, stored tokens are removed as described in the Privacy Policy. Credits have no cash value on termination.

We may update these terms. The effective date and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms. The current terms live at https://www.pragyan.ca/terms.
